Top 2017 Risks

Global consulting firm Protiviti and North Carolina State University Poole College of Management asked 735 board members and executives to rate the likely impact that various risk issues will have on their organizations in 2017 (using a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 represents an “extensive impact”). The top five areas of concern are:

 

1. Economic conditions (6.61)

2. Regulatory changes and regulatory scrutiny (6.51)

3. Cyberthreats (5.91)

4. Rapid speed of disruptive innovations and new technologies (5.88)

5. Privacy/identity management and information security (5.87)
