Survey: Stakeholder vs. Shareholder

To get a better understanding of current prevalent attitudes toward the role of business, the Business Research and Analysis Group (BRAG) invited a group of senior IMA® members to participate in a short “Stakeholder vs. Shareholder” survey.

 

The most important role of business is:

 

65% “maximization of shareholder value”

 

17% “enhancing the environment within which the organization operates”

 

7% “enhancing employee welfare”

 

11% “other,” which means all three are important
