IMA Releases Framework for Comment
By
IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) invites all stakeholders—including practitioners, academics, organizations, and others—to submit comments about the recently released exposure draft of the enhanced IMA Management Accounting Competency Framework. Announced at IMA’s Annual Conference & Expo in June 2018, the revised Framework reflects the skills that management accountants will need to remain relevant as new technologies impact the profession.
“The Framework update is part of our 100th Anniversary focus to look ahead and prepare for the future,” said IMA President and CEO Jeff Thomson. “We now know that today’s management accounting professional will be tasked with making decisions outside the realm of what once were traditional competencies. We believe this upgraded Competency Framework will provide a map for management accountants.”
New additions or enhancements include competencies for better utilizing automation in business, such as strategic management, data analytics, data governance, and data visualization.
Comments can be submitted to framework@imanet.org until September 17, 2018. Visit www.imanet.org/framework to learn more.
