IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) continues to expand its Campus Influencers program to reach more students at U.S. colleges and universities, with 2,867 students attending 71 presentations at 59 schools last year. The goal of the program is to spread the word about the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification, the benefits of IMA membership, and the wide range of career possibilities in management accounting.

The Campus Influencers program has grown considerably since its January 2016 launch. It began with approximately 40 volunteers and now has more than 180. Several Campus Influencers showed excellence in their impact on and commitment to the program, including four “Superstars” who each made at least four campus visits in 2018:

Thomas Francl, CMA

Candace Levine

James L. Smith, CPA

Jimmie Smith, CPA

In addition, the following Campus Influencers made more than one campus visit: Marvin Rosen; R. Kevin Adams, CMA, CFM, CPA; Scott Berry; Bernice Jenkins, CMA, CPA; Josefina Hernandez; Mike Lovelace, CMA, CPA, CISA; Patricia Wynn, CMA, CPA, CGMA; and Elliot Kammeyer, CMA, CPA. Chris Aquino, CMA, CFM, CSCA, CPA, IMA’s business development manager, also made two site visits for the program.

Are you interested in volunteering to become a Campus Influencer? IMA provides program participants with a scripted presentation, supporting documents, marketing materials, and a step-by-step process for reaching out to schools and maintaining those relationships.
